Workers Compensation
Explains what workers' compensation insurance covers, which workers qualify for it, and what a manager does when someone is injured on the job, from getting medical care to investigating the cause and filing with the insurance carrier and the state agency. Because coverage, deadlines, and required paperwork differ by state, industry, and carrier, the course sends you to your own state's requirements and your organization's guidelines rather than setting one standard.
Part of the compliance library: free for every employee at any company size.

What you will learn
- Identify which employees qualify for workers' compensation and which workers, such as genuine independent contractors, generally do not
- Sequence a manager's response to a workplace injury, beginning with medical care for the employee and followed by an investigation of the cause
- Describe the records and filings an employer maintains during a claim, and where to find your state's and your organization's specific requirements
- Recognize responses to a claim that violate an employee's rights, including retaliation and pressuring an employee to withdraw a claim

ARIA works the way a good first call works. She asks who is involved and what should change, recommends the closest starting point, quotes the real price, and hands you to a person when you want one.
