What is the difference between a label and a safety data sheet?
The label gives quick, at-a-glance hazard information on the container. The safety data sheet is the detailed reference with sections on hazards, handling, storage, first aid, and more. The course teaches you to use both together.
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes, self-paced. It underpins several other EH&S courses, including spill response and hazardous waste, and works well as a foundation for them.
Where do I find the safety data sheets for chemicals I use?
Employers are required to make SDSs accessible to employees. The course explains what an SDS contains and how to read it. Your workplace tells you where its SDS collection is kept.
